If you’re looking for a wedding venue with rustic charm and vintage appeal, Ghyll Barn should be at the top of your list. This beautiful Cumbrian barn has been lovingly converted and is now home to stylish weddings and events. With its unique decor using reclaimed materials, Ghyll Barn oozes character and industrial chic. I was lucky enough to be able to take part in a styled wedding shoot there, and I think you’ll love the results!
The family run team at Ghyll Barn has a real passion for creating beautiful events, and it shows in everything they do. From the moment you arrive, you feel like you’re in for something special. The plant wall is a particular favourite feature of mine, and the juxtaposition of old woodwork against the beautiful concrete floor gives it a unique feel.
With a setting like this the contemporary styling and the wedding decor worked perfectly, bright orange florals softened with greenery, bold monochrome stationery, and a wow factor black favour wall, with individual whisky bottles for each guest – yes please!
For the cake I knew I wanted to create something a little bit different – so lots of textured buttercream in hues of gray, speckled with black, a clear acrylic separator to add a contemporary edge, all finished with bold and bright fresh flowers for a striking wedding cake design.
