If you’re dreaming of an elegant country house wedding, Kinmount House offers a truly spectacular setting. Nestled within acres of private parkland in Dumfries & Galloway, this historic Scottish estate combines grand architecture, beautifully maintained formal gardens and exclusive-use luxury, making it a wonderful choice for couples looking for a wedding venue that feels both impressive and relaxed.
Laura and James’ summer wedding perfectly complemented the surroundings, with a soft palette of ivory, blush and eucalyptus green running throughout the day. From the romantic garden portraits to the understated floral styling, every detail felt thoughtfully chosen and beautifully in keeping with the character of the venue.
For their wedding cake, I created a contemporary three-tier design finished in soft ivory tones and decorated with fresh roses, lisianthus, gypsophila and eucalyptus. The fresh flowers echoed the couple’s florals and complemented the timeless elegance of Kinmount House perfectly.
The styling throughout the day was beautifully cohesive, with fresh florals featuring roses, eucalyptus and delicate seasonal blooms. Soft ivory tones were complemented by touches of blush and fresh greenery, creating a timeless look that worked perfectly against the historic architecture and landscaped gardens of Kinmount House.
From the stationery to the floral arrangements, each element contributed to an elegant and relaxed atmosphere that reflected the couple’s style beautifully.
For their wedding cake, I created a contemporary three-tier design finished in soft ivory and decorated with fresh roses, lisianthus, gypsophila and eucalyptus. The fresh flowers echoed those used throughout the wedding, helping the cake feel like a natural extension of the overall styling rather than a standalone feature.
Positioned within the reception space, the cake provided an elegant focal point before becoming part of one of the most joyful moments of the day as Laura and James cut the first slice together.
Laura and James were an absolute pleasure to work with, and I was delighted to receive this lovely feedback after their wedding…
“Kelly did an AMAZING job with our wedding cake. We couldn’t have been happier.
From our first chat to the wedding day, Kelly was super easy to work with, provided loads of options and guidance and delivered an exceptionally beautiful and delicious cake.
We received a tasting box months prior to the wedding to pick our flavours, and it was a very difficult choice to make as they were all really tasty.
Kelly also worked perfectly with our florist to tie the cake seamlessly in with our theme.
We couldn’t recommend Wren Cake Design enough. Thank you again for making our special day even more special!”
