Set in over 50 acres of beautiful countryside on the doorstep of the Lake District, Casterton Grange is full of English charm and the epitome of a country estate wedding venue.

Luxurious and grand, yet wonderfully intimate, it’s one of my favourite venues in the North West and provides a beautiful backdrop for contemporary wedding cakes and elegant wedding styling.

This modern glamour editorial brought together everything a couple could want for their wedding day: awe-inspiring floral installations, a dress fit for the red carpet, a fun champagne tower, and a contemporary wedding cake designed to complement the sophisticated aesthetic of the shoot.

Contemporary Wedding Cake Inspiration at Casterton Grange

The cake design took a more understated approach, allowing the styling and floral installations to take centre stage. Clean, contemporary tiers were finished with delicate wafer paper detailing, creating movement and texture while maintaining a soft and elegant aesthetic.

Inspired by the romantic colour palette of peach, apricot and blush tones, the design was intentionally refined, providing a subtle backdrop to the abundance of flowers surrounding it. The delicate wafer paper elements echoed the organic shapes found throughout the floristry, helping to connect the cake seamlessly with the wider styling of the shoot.

Set amongst the floral arrangements, the cake became part of the overall tablescape rather than a standalone feature, demonstrating how a contemporary wedding cake can feel both artistic and effortless within a larger wedding design.
