Windermere Jetty Museum is a stunning and contemporary wedding venue right on the shores of beautiful Lake Windermere.
With a black corrugated outer and sharp angles, it’s very different to your usual Cumbrian buildings, but the juxtaposition against the natural scenery is what makes it so special.
Its unique features make it the perfect place to get creative with your wedding styling, and that’s exactly what we did for this shoot.
A colour palette of black and neutrals softened with warm autumn tones, created a modern and stylish look.
The bride wore simple yet stunning gowns from Shikoba Bride, including a wow factor black wedding dress complimented with accessories from PS With Love (and the hydrangea style earrings provided particular inspiration for the cake design).
To create a dramatic look against the buildings Becky from Picking Posies used foraged and dried grasses and bracken, and the bouquet softened with ribbon added a romantic touch.
For the cake design, I wanted to create something with an organic texture, and small details to catch the eye, so an aged stone effect with small blossoms in a dried flower effect worked perfectly.
I hope you enjoy this modern wedding inspiration, and that it gives you some ideas for styling your big day. Thank you so much to the amazing team who asked me to take part and made it all happen!
If you’re looking for something a little different for your wedding venue, then definitely consider the Jetty Museum. It really is a spectacular place!
